The Pope Over Rome. Oil on canvas. 24 x 32 cm.

This contemporary artwork was painted in my Oslo art studio after a trip to Italy. I visited the Vatican in Rome among other places and this abstract painting depicts the Pope as a bird hovering over Rome. The columns of the buildings portray the Roman architecture of the Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill. They also represent history and Rome as  a place of power for the Catholic Church.
