This landscape painting depicts Mt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, Australia. The abstract artwork portrays the ocean in the shape of a whale, a nod to Mudjimba Island nearby which is shaped like a whale. It also symbolizes the many whale sightings of this particular coast. The Australian bush surrounding the ocean is full of tracks down to the sea. I have walked these bush tracks many times. This contemporary artwork pays homage to one of my favourite Australian beaches.
