Bougainvillea in Shade

Bougainvillea in Shade. Oil, enamel on plastic. 120 x 160 cm.

This abstract artwork portrays the bougainvillea which hung across the driveway  outside the art studio at the time this series was painted. I was always fascinated by the apricot coloured paper flowers of the bougainvillea against the vivid  Australian blue sky. This contemporary painting focus on light and shade. A landscape painting depicting a quintessential Australian landscape in suburbia.
